This will be available only at Festival times even though it will stay there year-round. Postman Birch will now be available for the extension of the Post Office quests of the Shire in Gamwich. Third Shirriff Aldo Gamgee will be found outside the Inn look below for Inn details Sackville Sackville is more or less the size of Frogmorton, but more houses.
Around Sackville are farms stretching out 3 times the size of the actual town in every direction. Postman Baggins will now be available for the extension of the Post Office quests of the Shire in Gamwich. Alandinad Alandinad is found high in the hills that border the Southfarthing in the south. It takes about 2 minutes running to get up to the camp from the ground.
Alandinad is the size of half of Esteldin. Ranger model of Alandinad is the original model, not the Annuminas one. Quests in Alandinad will give a new way of getting Mathom House reputation. Nearly every quest will give you an Ancient Mathom on top of the usual quest Rewards. House of the West-tooks Possibly the most prideful of hobbits are found here, claiming the North-tooks are a family broke off from the West-tooks, and therefore truly the family Bandobras the Bullroarer was from.
A large library is found in the house which you will find is very useful, Scholars. Lemacgar West-took sits atop the entranceway smoking a pipe. Whitwell All of the folk here believe themselves to be the Royal Welcomers, boasting that they date back all the way to when the Kings came to take their routine check-ups on the doings of the Shire, before Arnor's fall. Upon entering the Southfarthing, the Whitfoots busy themselves with making sure they know your every detail, saying that the Check-point is part of the great ordeal of the Royal Welcomers.
The Whitfoots say that from Pincup, Whitwell's twin village, and Whitwell itself went most of the archers who aided in the battle of Fornost. The Torch and Barrow is an inn that has three rooms with fireplaces and many loose chairs and benches, making it a hotspot for RPing. The Treasure Sack is an inn around the size of the Bird and Baby.
Quest-chains in the Southfarthing are mostly regular matters but a few are more sinister. Unrespectable Blood-relations The quest-chain Unrespectable Blood-relations starts in Sackville, and deals with going up to Bag End and haunting the Sackville-Bagginses.
It will allow you some fun by doing such stuff as planting weeds in their garden, and creeping them out by making noises in the bushes where they can't see you. Petty but Sackville's idea of revenge.
Rivalry of the Tooks Rivalry of the Tooks will begin in the House of the West-tooks, and will involve plotting against the North-tooks for daring to say that the Bullroarer was of their family, and that the North-tooks were not a branch of West-tooks but an entirely different Took family.
It will bring you to battle in an instance against a North-took in the name of the West-tooks, and other lesser things for about 8 quests that finally end with an instance where North-tooks arrive at the House of the West-tooks in protest and the Thain arrives and puts a stop to it, saying that the only thing that matters is that the Bullroarer was a Took.
Pipe-weed Delivery Pipe-weed Delivery will send you off on timed quests with pipe-weed to all the towns in the Shire, but finding that the pipe-weed was stolen by either goblins or brigands and the end sends you off to defeat goblins and brigands in an instance.
It will be around quests long, and will start off by making sure the barricades are still there on the other side of Sarn Ford temporarily the blocking that keeps you from going southward until an expansion comes out , brings you to making sure the Nazgul can't return this way in the fear that the main quest giver suspects the ancient kings perhaps know the secret way he is knowledgeable of.
According to him, the way could bring anyone to the Last Bridge much quicker then the Road can. It will end by defeating a Cargul who was a brigand converted to the service of the Nazgul when they passed through the Woody End. These are the main quest-chains though other simpler quests are of course within the Southfarthing, both quests and quest-chains. You may also be wondering why Pincup wasn't listed as a settlement. That is because it was taken by brigands and the hobbits were forced to move to Gamwich.
A quest-chain in Gamwich is devoted to this matter. Well that's my idea for the Southfarthing Landroval Ledrick Coldbrook. The Coldbrook Pedigree. Reply With Quote. Mar 28 , AM 2. Join Date Feb Posts 1, Mar 29 , AM 3. Join Date Jul Posts Re: The Southfarthing Release This is a great a idea.

The Woody End is filled with the wild creatures that live in the Shire, and is the central hideout of the Brigands that terrorize the good folk of the Southfarthing. On the southern portions of the zone, even though technically it is not woody, is Gamwich. Tookwood The Tookwood is the western stretch of the Southfarthing, running from the South Way that connects the other three Farthings and the Southfarthing, to the southwestern hills that border the Southfarthing.
The Tookwood slowly hikes up from the ground level to a higher level as you travel through it westward, and when you reach the highest part you will find the end of the Southfarthing. Nestled in the center of the wood in a clearing full of gardens, lies the House of the West-tooks.
Overbourn Marshes The Overbourn Marshes lie on the edge of the Brandywine in the northeastern most part of the Southfarthing. North of them in Shire-proper is the region known as the Marish. The Overbourn Marshes are rather deserted, most of the activity directly west of them in The Woody End.
It is made mostly of farms and green fields. From The Bottom Vale in the west to the Brandywine. Track this quest and return to the bear-den southeast of Tuckborough to the place marked on your map: the pipe-weed barrel should be in a stone enclosure. Go east-northeast from Tuckborough to the Methel-stage at Then, enter the Great Smials and engage in one last quest with Adelard Took.
Enter the room beside Adelard and interact with the bookshelf at the end. When the squirrel appears, chase it out of the library by running up behind it. Meanwhile, grab the Yellowed Recipe from the bookshelf along the north wall near the formerly squirrel-haunted shelf.
Afterward, go down to the ovens southwest of The Hill to speak to Opal Goodbody. Take that nasty pie you gave Opal and bring it back to Holly Hornblower. You may have to wait a moment at the bridge to avoid a Hungry Hobbit.
Deliver the mail to Woodhall, east-southeast of Frogmorton. Speak to Rollo Boffin when you get there. Go west of Woodhall until you reach a bridge. Turn north just as it hits the grass on the other side of the river, use the waggon, then return to Rollo.
The farm is due west of Woodhall. Open the Cage Door of the wagon when you are prepared to defend Gerebert Took. Instead of turning in this quest, return to Woodhall and speak to the Postman. Take the mail to Stock, to the northeast.
The Postman is far to the northeast of Stock itself, near the Brandywine Bridge. Return to the NPCs you passed by in Stock. Keep both of them for now. Return to the Postman in the northeast corner of Stock. You'll have to jump across the ruined wall to your northwest to get across the river: it's a bit of a puzzle, but time your jumps well and it can be done.
It syncronizes best if you complete it before doing the wolves of step 2. Search a good ways north of Wilimar's home, just inside the gate to the right, for a journal which will then light up and become usable. Bring it back to Wilmar. Travel northeast of Budgeford to Milo Bolger. After speaking with him, go to the fields to the southeast and kill 8 wolves. The last two or so can be found wandering along the northern fence.
Return to Milo when finished. He is now to your west-northwest. Travel to the Yale-height, south-southeast of Budgeford. Kill 10 harvest-flies there. At the top of the Yale-height, you will find a Rune-Inscribed Collar. Turn in your quests in Budgeford. Then, return to Wilmar Bolger in the north. Go west of Budgeford, wrapping south around the cliffs, into the marshes near Frogmorton to speak to Callum. Then, return to Wilmar. Go to Collect the first plant, move west until you reach the next one, continue southwest for the next one, and move a good distance west for the final one.
Return to Wilmar Bolger in Northern Budgeford. The time has come to take that rancid pie from Stock to Hobbiton. Hit the Stable-master of Stock along the way, if you haven't already. Go south from Holly Hornblower to the town of Tuckborough.
Go to the quest-marker northeast of Budgeford. Go to Sapphira Bolger on the north side of town and carry her pie back to Holly Hornblower in Hobbiton. Return to Overhill and advance your quests in town. Go directly north from Overhill until you reach a Big Black Bear along the right edge of the quest area indicator circle on your map. You should probably kill it. Go west from here, dipping south slightly around the cliff, and then go northwest when you see the webs.
Cut the webs, then talk the Walking Tree in the back of the camp and escort it out of that place. Only pick up the stable-master in Brockenborings.
I suggest going directly south to Budgeford and then turning west once you cross The Water. Once you arrive, also speak to Robin Smallburrow in the Inn. Turn south, and turn this quest in to Hyacinth Took in West Tuckborough.
After speaking to Pansy Tunnelly, go the west side of town to speak to Prisca Underhill 2 , then talk to the Postman and carry the satchel to Brockenborings 3. NOTE: Brockenborings is full of Nosey Hobbits, so I recommend running up the elevated hill to the south of Brockenborings right below the Inn, jumping down to the Inn level, then jumping down one more level to the Postman in the town below.
Enter the Inn and talk to the Innkeeper. Then, talk to Ponto Hornblower northwest of the Stable-master. Go north from Brockenborings a good distance until you reach a Rabbit-hole at Use the hole, then return to Brockenborings and talk to Bodo Goodbody near the Milestone.
Travel far southeast to kill Bats in the Greenfields before returning to Scary. Their numbers will increase as you move south. Start heading up toward Scary when you only need a few more, and kill the last few along the way. When you reach Scary , advance the three quests that stretch across the town, then return to Brockenborings.
Now, untrack all other quests, and track the following quests in your Quest Log:. Continue going north a long while from Halros's camp, killing as many bears as you can along the way. You will eventually meet Mungo Burrows; accept his quest and go east.
Move toward the quest-marker on the east side of the camp, killing any Goblin Hurlers that stand in your way.
Return afterward to the Brockenborings questgivers, lined up to the north and south of the Stable-master. Talk to Bodo Goodbody as you move east, back toward Scary. Interact with the flashing Hobbit Lamp-post near Bodo before you leave. Then, speak to Wilcome Tunnelly when you get to Scary, followed by going east to the quarry. Run straight for the cave opening at the bottom of the quarry.
While in the cave, take the north fork, killing spiders along the way, until you find the skull and use it. Don't get me wrong, I love Evendim. Absolutely beautiful region, excellent place to solo Some of the quests were easy enough There are several mobs guarding most of them, that it's nearly impossible to get past them, even with Orchalwe's help.
I'm trying to do the same thing as I did with the Barrow Downs and Dol Dinen--level up until the bad guys are in the gray so I can just breeze by I've tried my luck at it with a group of people, including a group consisting of my main a hunter , a couple tanks, and a minstrel, and STILL can't get past the first two waves of bad guys. There's this one signature I think We were all beaten in a matter of seconds. I was just in Rivendell! Well, I guess you need to be an elf to be able to tolerate the ungodly long trek between places out here.
That, and the fact that I've fallen off more cliffs in this region than any other region in Middle Earth so far I haven't reached Moria yet, so I can't make comparisons there. I didn't have a problem with the content of the quests, it was just traveling that took up most of my time in the Trollshaws.
Feoc in Forochel. This guy took several tries before I finally beat him. It was a solo quest too. The guy had a pet wolf with him, and I tried killing it first during one of my attempts, but the guy just resurrected him. Great, now I was fighting a ghost wolf in addition to this Gauradan boss.
No pun intended And lastly, anything involving giants. Please keep me away from the giants. Pretty much the entire Vol 1 epic quest chain from Book 3 onwards. Join Date Aug Posts And a six-pack of elf-beer. Call your lazy-butt daughter down from her scenic lookout and make HER do it.
I love the Walk With Frodo quest. Absolutely adore it. Oh, and Lalia? Stay home and download a torrent of the latest album instead, you'll be a whole lot happier. Trust me. For me it has to be that book quest, can't remember the book but I think it was the last book of SoA where you had to ride from Rivendell to that ruin in the Trollshaw so many frikkin times, back and forth back and forth back and forth. May 25 , PM Pengail in the Lonelands wins my stupidest NPC award.
When I see him tied up there below Amon Sul I just wave at him now. Lonelands also offers Agamaur, to which I now say "Thanks, but no". Originally Posted by Qhouri. That's what I do on every char. I also hate the spiders in the Trollshaws and Goblintown. Epic 1, book 13 I think The run from one end of Forochel to the other. Anything that is "Go look there, come back, then go back to point one and kill x number of critters". Join Date Mar Posts 1, Thinking through all the quests I have done I believe the worst was from Vol 1, I think book 9 when you escort Lorniel to the gates of Carn Dum to find her Father. I did this the first time on my burg and it took I believe 19 attempts before I was able to complete it.
I have detested Lorniel ever since, even more so than Lalia and Sara!! Originally Posted by Arrabell. Perhaps it isn't a quest, but the bog lurker deed in Lone Lands was particularly brutal. And Lalia, of course. Atm it's impossible to have any sort of fun as it's seems to be permacamped. Join Date Sep Posts 1, Looks like he's still around!
Frankly, the quests are all pretty good. I like the escort quests just fine. I'm not too keen on the quests that I have to traipse cross country through parade-ground packed, agressive opponents to special camp where I kill the my assigned set of creatures from set 'A', as well as the signature boss and a number of creatures from set 'B'. Then traipse through the countryside respawns to be thanked and then told to go back to that same place and collect a bushel of some useless junk.
So back through the mass of alerted, ravenous landscape creatures to go wade through creatures from set 'A', set 'B' and the boss signature usually 3 or 4 times before I can find the ground spawns I want and haul that load through the set 'A' and 'B' respawns and a small army of slavering creatures standing around, waiting for me, the tasty morsel.
Then get told to back to that place since my report causes the NPC concerns about all the creatures from set 'B' I reported. He ignores my heroic tale about the boss signature, of course. So, I fast ride over the the broken terrain in hopes of avoiding the nation of enemies only to get knocked off my mount and forced to fight a dozen enemies at one time, decide not to do that foolish maneuver again and wade through the packed concert seating of opponents, through set 'A' creatures at the place I've been to a dozen times already, fight off the boss signature a couple more times until I finally get enough from set 'B', fight through set 'A' and the boss signature to get out and trudge along the blood-soaked mud where I again fight a monster every other step to get back at last to the NPC.
And now the NPC has finally gotten a report of the head creature in charge of the whole operation, and all I have to do is go elimitate him. I dread to ask since I know the answer. And, naturally, I guess correctly.
